Motivation Leads to Success by Ariana - April 2024 Scholarship Essay
Motivation leads to success by playing a role in inspiring diligence, building resilience, and encouraging people to overcome obstacles on their journey to achievement. As a student, it is important not to have just one motivating factor when it comes to academics, but instead two or three. These motivations can stem from an inside passion, family support, or even competition within yourself.
Motivation is one of the driving forces behind academic success pushing people ahead in the face of adversity. It inspires diligence by creating a purpose in the right direction of whatever you may be pursuing, not only academically but also in life. When motivated students are more likely to get their work done in a timely matter and to the best of their ability because they know they have people in their corner cheering them on even if they fail. Failure is a part of life, the more people you have helping you back up each time you fail the more likely it is that you will succeed. Whether those people are your friends, family, or even your teachers, they're there to help keep you on your feet when faced with setbacks.
Motivations can also emerge from an internal passion by building a mindset of perseverance and grit. Students motivated by internal academic enthusiasm are more likely to stick to their goals, preparing them for whatever challenges they may face now and in the future. Not only that but it also creates a deep sense of satisfaction when new subjects are mastered and new skills are learned, making it a competition for yourself to get better and better with each day that goes by.
Furthermore, as a student, it is important not to rely on just one motivating factor when it comes to academics. Instead, developing a variety of motivational sources could provide a more solid foundation for success. These motivations tend to come from within, such as a genuine desire to follow one's interests and goals or a true passion for learning. They may also originate from outside sources, such as the motivation to surpass oneself and achieve greater heights of success or the support and encouragement of friends and family.
