Strategy and Motivation by Araya - December 2017 Scholarship Essay

Strategy is defined as a plan of action or policy designed to achieve a major or overall aim. There is no algorithm for a perfect assignment, but there are things that can be done no matter the subject to make sure that the project relays the message it is trying to communicate. The key to a successful project is making sure you are doing your best. When looking at that assignment sheet at the beginning, the task given can seem overwhelming. Whenever I get a school project, I remind myself that a teacher would not give me an impossible task and get to work. Every time I open my laptop or sit down to do homework, I dedicate my time to the problem at hand. I tell myself that my time spent doing my projects is only going to be as productive as I make it. The only thing stopping me from that perfect score is myself.
Ever since I was little I was told that I was gifted. A child that is so smart and is going to do such great things with their future. The only was that those wonderful claims about my personality is if I focus and apply myself to everything that I do. In classes such as English, I make sure that my assignments are going to impress by having my family look them over, using academic vocabulary, and knowing how the project is going to be graded. In classes like math, I always make sure I study online using resources such as Khan Academy and looking over other examples of the project I have to complete.
No matter the strategy that I use for a project, I always make sure the final product is something that I am proud of turning in. Personally, I think that the work someone turns in should be something they want to show off and that this is the true key to a successful project strategy.
