How Avid has changed my life by Aoife - November 2024 Scholarship Essay

My education for the past four years has led me to success for the next four years. I would like to thank one program in particular which is Avid. Avid is a program for first-year generation college students and kids whose families struggle financially. Avid has changed my life in so many ways by helping me keep a balanced schedule for all my years. I have learned to keep a job while excelling in sports and volunteering weekly. All while keeping good grades and advanced classes. This program has brought me farther than I could have imagined. I am ready to bring those skills to my future. For one, I am more than excited to participate in any water polo team or club for either my college or college town. I am also ready to put my all into my education and school. This would include doing school spirit, good attendance, and, keeping up my study habits from high school. Overall, Avid has taught me school is a privilege and to treat it like that. And, because of this, I am excited to join a four-year university. And to use all of the skills I have learned in the past years to achieve my goals and enhance my educational journey.
