The Path to Completion by Anthony - December 2017 Scholarship Essay

When it comes to completing school projects, if you do not have an organized or proper tactic in tackling it, you will surely hinder yourself. Walking head-first into a project is a very bad idea, and is disastrous for many. The worst part of it all is that there is a much more efficient way that only a minority of students use. This technique that is used allows for a better grasp of your information, little procrastination, and perhaps an early completed project.

The most effective way to completing a school project is by using the time you have and planning out segments of your project at intervals. This allows for separate major points of the project, avoiding the possibility of being overwhelmed. Many students are deterred from making progress on projects like essays due to the amount needed to be done. It isn't exactly pleasing attempting to finish a paper because you're in a mad rush to turn it in tomorrow, or that you just want to get it done and over with. If you pace yourself, give yourself breaks, and plan ahead, then you remove that sense of pressure that comes with finishing work. Instead, you gain a better stance on the project, thus having a better attitude, and in turn completing an amazing finished product. This is one of the key principles of strategically completing a project. You can do this by mapping out a plan, using a calendar, or a timeline. Having a resource to plan out your tasks is crucial in avoiding procrastination.

Another tactic for success on a project would be to gain constructive criticism. You can get this output from anyone, including family, friends, and/or teachers. Bear in mind that opinions may differ and that you may not agree with one, but the point is to have hindsight on every aspect of your work. Not only will another eye help you with finding mistakes in your project, but it can also allow for more ideas to flow in your head, and allow for more possibilities when it comes to how you want to approach a task.
