What study method has helped you most for final exams, and why: by Anthony - May 2016 Scholarship Essay
The study methods I use which helps me most for final exams has honestly been listening to my teachers and how they explain the material. I take notes in all the classes I am in. I then make note cards out of 4X4 index cards and take the key terms in my notes. I car pool with a friend. I have my friend test me on my way to school. My teachers teach the material very well. My teachers teach well enough for me to pin point the key terms that will be on the exam. I take notes from their teaching. That helps me a lot. I have an amazing memory. If I keep hearing each question over and over again, the questions and answer will remain stuck in my mind for the exam.
Another way that helps me out with final exams is actually taking previous tests and quizzes. I take quizzes on the materials before I take the actual test. I keep and use the study sheets and quizzes. Since I have gone over all the materials separately, when I take all at once, it will be as if I am taking all those quizzes and tests all over again, which always helps me since I have gone over the material before. Studying for exams is not hard at all. If you listen to your teachers on purpose, they will go over every answer in the exam. My teachers review all the different classes they taught before the exam. They are teachers for a reason, right? I focus on the teachers, write notes, and that will help me get a good grade on my final exam. I have a 4.0 GPA and was on the highest honor roll for the last two (2) semesters. This method really works for me. I believe it works for me because I was blessed with a good memory and the follow-up from my teachers and the repetitive way I review what I already learned. I believe keeping the actual quizzes helps me because it takes me back to the moment I took the test, which then takes me back to the moment I learned the lesson.
