Hoping to strike the academic GOLD pot. by Anna - August 2022 Scholarship Essay
As an incoming freshman to an out of state college. I strive to transition easily with my lifestyle, schedule, and academics. Class of 2022 (high school graduates), struggled fully experiencing an academic workload. Those challenges were created by stressed or autopilot teachers, and technical difficulties during the pandemic. Finding a way to be academically successful is my goal this upcoming year. Along with that, I strive to be flexible and adaptable to my learning environments.
I feel like I haven't taken an academically rigorous class since sophomore year, AP World. As a student that was affected by the pandemic, I was stripped of learning in person with one-on-one, hands-on learning. My teachers were either overworked trying to get the same quality of learning for every student, or on autopilot with no care whether their student succeeded or not. With that struggle, and having to navigate it with little aid, it left no room to receive the proper education we need for undergraduate learning.
While preparing for college, I've stressed hours of learning different studying tactics. Hoping I can strike gold on one of them, so I can be the most successful student possible, and unlock a new level of critical thinking, required for undergraduate learning. Adapting and surviving the first semester of college, and praying to succeed. Nonetheless, I will learn more about myself and grow as a person.
