Picking a major for college is never easy. Unless you've known what you wanted to do form the beginning. I've always been pretty indecisive when it comes to a lot of stuff but when it came to choosing my major; nursing just seems right. Nursing is a profession that is centered around patient care and providing support for patients during their most vulnerable times. What fuels my passion for Nursing is the fact that I watched both my grandparents live full abundant lives just to be put into retirement homes and mistreated by the nurses and CNA's. Watching my grandparents be mistreated by the nurses really upset me because they're the care takers and supposed to leave a positive impact on all residents. As a nurse your job it to provide care and protect all residents and patients no matter the background.

After looking into nursing as a career I found that there are plenty of opportunities and a diverse range of specializations. With my nursing degree I would be able to work in various health care settings like hospitals, clinics, and retirement homes. I'm also open to opportunities to specialize in areas such as pediatrics, geriatrics, emergency care, and mental health, allowing me to pursue a verity of health avenues. The demand for nursing continues to grow and nurses are needed everyday making nursing a stable and promising career choice for me.
