Do not procrastinate by Andrew - April 2016 Scholarship Essay

Often time students such as myself or peers around me believe that, when school is concerned, we are invincible. Meaning we can do anything we want including procrastinating important projects or homework until the last minute. This can be incredibly harmful towards us students, especially those who believe that nothing will happen to them. If students procrastinate more they will stress more, the two are directly proportional. As studies have proven stress can be deadly as it leads to several different disease. This can be best avoided by putting time towards work and simply doing things on time.
If I were to go back to my freshman year of high school, I would scream to the masses about the errors of procrastination. Though I heard the warnings of past seniors, I chose to ignore them and do what I wish. This was accompanied with the mindset that I can do anything the night before, however that is not always the case. Students need their essential hours of sleep and procrastinating an essay or a project until the last minute can often interfere with that. With the lack of sleep, bags and stress will form towards the student.
Long story short, one piece of advice I would tell younger students is to do their work on time. Friends can always wait until you are done with your work. It does not need to be done all in one sitting.
