If I were to be a Professor by Andrena - August 2017 Scholarship Essay

When a person becomes a professor it should be in a subject that the soon-to-be professor is good at, enthusiastic about, and is able to explain thoroughly. That is why if I were to be a college professor I would be a math professor.
I love math and I have always been really good at math. I have always received As in my math classes and during the four years of High School I completed five years worth of math courses. Math has always been my favorite class.
When I was in Junior High and High School I was always the person my friends would come to when they needed any help with math. They always told me that the teachers always made the lessons seem so complicated, but when they would come and ask for help I made it seem so simple. I was able to explain to them in a manner that made sense to them and I always had a lot of patience when working with them. I still have friends asking for my help with math even now in college. Also, I help my step-daughter out with her math. She has been asking me for help with math since she was in third grade; she is now in eighth grade and is the top of her class. I may not be great when it comes to some subjects, like history, but I know math is definitely my strong suit.
That is why I know if I were to be a college professor it would definitely be a math professor. I would make a great professor too, might I add.
