Why Morning Sucks by Andrea - January 2019 Scholarship Essay

Do you ever try to wake up in the morning to the sounds of birds chirping and there's the angelic music playing in your head, and the aroma of pancakes and eggs and bacon lingers in the air? Yet, instead you step on your Foreman Grill and burn your foot ( The Office reference). In reality, you wake up to the sound of an annoying alarm, there is no pancakes ready for you and you're running late for your job. So somehow you manage to get out the house in time but the traffic is so unbelievable and everybody is honking and no one is driving. You start to think this is the worst way to start the day. You get to work, your boss yells at you because this is the second time you're late. Yet, you put that all behind because once you get home, you're going to order takeout and you will binge-watch that new Netflix Original show that everybody is talking about. You get home, take a shower, eat your takeout and enjoy you're evening. You finish your show and you forget all about your day and the frustrations you went through. You meditate, read a book, and you are back to your normal self. You feel proud of this. That's until you check the time and it 3 in the morning and that's why mornings suck.
I tend to be more productive in the evening/night mostly because I want to do everything so that way I can sleep early and not have to go through the anecdote that I explained earlier. Also, my mornings tend to go very fast because I go to school, so my evenings tend to go slower. This gives me "more time" to do chores or hobbies that I like enjoying without having to worry about daily things, such as colleges, job, or scholarships. It gives me a break from the constant pressure and responsibility and I can find a balance in my life.
