To me, thinking outside of the box means being creative and coming up with new ideas at every chance possible. It means looking at an issue or problem from all different perspectives. Two examples in my life where I’m forced to think outside of the box are through wrestling and a summer job.
Before I start explaining, I want to make it clear that yes I am a female wrestle and yes I do wrestle boys during regular high school season. Through this crazy sport, I am forced to think outside the box, especially when going against someone bigger and stronger than I am. Usually I just try a few moves, judo throws, that most of the time end up working. Sometimes, however, opponents catch onto my moves and I have to switch it up. I have to use my creativity once I’m down on points with short time. This is when I start thinking out of the box. Moves start to become creative under pressure. In those few minutes or even seconds left on the clock, anything goes. It’s time to get crazy and attack as much as possible with as much as I’ve got. There have been multiple matches where I’ve been forced to try something I’m not all comfortable with, but sometimes, I can even surprise myself. Along with having to be creative in wrestling, I also have to think outside of the box during school.
During the summer, I had a job on a farm. This job consisted of lots of manual labor from moving wood to building shelves and hanging wires. Everyday was something new and exciting. This is one place where I was forced to think outside of the box all the time. It’s always about making use of what you have and getting creative with it. One thing I’ve learned is that blueprints are boring when you can always making something so original and different. It’s fun to think outside of the box and be yourself, don’t build a replica, build something unique that is your own. From a personal experience, I can honestly say that hard work and determination can build something so beautiful.
Thinking outside of the box is a fun way to get creative and come up with new ideas that you haven’t even considered before. It’s a way to be unique and different. Stand out instead of fitting in because normal is boring.
