The word I would use to describe why I wish to attend college is “opportunity”. I chose this word because I feel college will allow me the opportunity to learn. Also, college would expose me to a more diverse environment. I feel that opportunities will give me more flexibility to accomplish the things I want to do in life.

In college I will have the opportunity to grow personally which means I will have the opportunity to become independent and responsible. I will have the opportunity to make my own choices such as to eat healthy or to not eat healthy. I will have the choice to select my own clothes and the choice to choose my own activities. College will give me the opportunity to become part of a more diverse environment. So I will get the opportunity to meet a variety of new friends. The college environment would also allow me to develop and gain new skills. I feel I will have the opportunity to take more classes of my choosing than in high school.

I feel the best opportunity about college is that it will give me the opportunity to make money. I plan to major in engineering and I feel that getting that engineering degree will allow me many opportunities to make money. It would give me the opportunity to make money in doing something that I enjoy. Therefore, opportunity is the word I choose as to why I wish to attend college because it’s the key to me accomplishing my goal of becoming an engineer.
