"The Impacts of This Major" by Anahi - May 2023 Scholarship Essay

When I begin to attend college this fall I plan to major in health science and with the interest in nursing or radiology. Choosing this major has many impacts and importances in my life. For many years I have had this interest and desire in majoring something like this. Being able to have a job in the medical field is something that I am willing to do for a great number of years.
Since having the interest for many years I looked up to many people who work in this field. This is my personal opinion but I feel like all the different medical field workers all have a huge impact to this world. They do a lot of helping and saving people's life that I want to be apart of. I know that they do not always have positive outcomes but if I have the chance to help people feel better than I'm willing to do this all the way.
Even though achieving this goal for myself will make me proud but it'll also mean so much to my parents. My parents will honestly be proud in what ever major I would do but something about majoring in health science makes them have a different type of happiness. We all know that it won't be anything easy when achieving this but that's what makes them even more proud of me and it lets them know that they did not raise a quitter and instead they raised an amazing overachiever daughter. My last big reason that I want to share is that this will make me feel like a role model for people but more specifically for my nieces and nephews. Even though I'm just their aunt they mean so much to me and the love I have for them is the love I image a mother has for her kids. I hope that me doing something this big and good in my life gives them the boost to achieve their own goals and lets them know it's possible. I know this path won't be easy but all of the reasons listed make it so worth it to me.
