The summer before I began my junior year of high school, I read the book “Before I Fall”, spectacularly written by Lauren Oliver. The incredibility of this book has made me cling to it, re-reading it several times since the initial time I read the novel.

“Before I Fall” is a book about a group of ‘popular’ girls in high school being in a fatal car accident where one of the girls is killed. Before the girl is able to move on to Heaven, she is forced to re-live the day she passed away 7 different times. She learns she was brutal to other students she attended school with and if she were given the chance to re-live her entire life, she would have treated peers, family, and possessions differently.

I believe this book should be read by each person before their graduation simply because I think there is a lot of stereotyping and bullying in schools in this time and generation. I cannot stress the amount of clarity I was given upon finishing this book. I feel as though it is possible that students will learn that their material possessions aren’t nearly as important as how others should be getting treated by them.
