Why I Want to go to College by Amaya - November 2023 Scholarship Essay

I've always known from a young age that I wanted to go to college. I knew that going could potentially get me better job options for my future and help me find one that I will enjoy for the rest of my life. My dream job though, is to be an Exotic Animal Vet. I want to go out into foreign countries and rescue injured or endangered animals and heal them. Not just house pets, but animals all around the world. I think going to college will help me get there faster and help me to become a vet that can save many lives.
I want to be an exotic animal vet because I watched my cat die right in front of me. She was shaking and making a loud screaming sound. We had no idea what was happening so we called the vet. They weren't closed at the time and it wasn't busy, but they couldn't help her that day. After that, I decided that I was going to dedicate my life to saving the lives of animals, no matter how long it takes to get there.
That is why I want to go to college, because I want to commit my life to saving the animals and be the very best I can be. No matter the time or cost.
College will help me achieve my goals on a more sophisticated level. I don't want to stand around and do nothing when some animals need serious help. Right now, I'm doing a biology transfer through a college near me and hopefully that will apply to my first 4 years of college. Then I want to go to another college that specializes in exotic animal vets. I'm aiming to only do 6 years but I will go for 8 years as well.
