My Biggest Achievement During Education by Amaru - August 2023 Scholarship Essay

What has been my biggest achievement during education was attending Life Teen Summer Camp this summer. I decided to rise among all my challenges and commit to being closer to God this summer. Before this fall semester begins I wanted to experience with other teens the amazing opportunities I had draw closer to Jesus Christ. Although I could’ve spent time with friends I chose to participate in the Life Teen Summer Camp instead.

I learned so much about the power of prayer, daily mass, the Sacraments, and completing daily activities that helped us learn more about the teachings from God. Throughout my life I have hindered myself from exploring and learning more about God and Jesus Christ. Before I went to camp I struggled to find my way but that week I spent at camp with my church family, I decided to open my heart to others and give more than receiving like Christ did. I learned about the importance of forgiveness and repentance. I didn’t know my faith as well as I know it now. Being a Christian means being selfless, loving others even though they don’t love you, hard work, dedication, determination, and commitment.

This camp has change the way I look at life, the way I treat people, the way I think, the way I react to negative situations, how to stay positive in a negative situation, having faith during any challenge, and any obstacles. I learned to love others like God and Jesus Christ loves me. Christians are not perfect but we make sure to follow the teachings of God, not to sin, continue to ask God for forgiveness, love him through the good and the bad, and thank God for all he has done for us. One of the best memories of summer camp I had was being able to count on my neighbor when I needed help. Loving your neighbor is very important. Attending and experiencing all I have learned in this camp will help me to inspire others to live a Christian life and encounter Christ like I did.
