My Biggest Supporter by Amanda - March 2023 Scholarship Essay

Throughout all my years of school, there have been many people that have impacted me in big ways. These have been teachers, friends, and family, but one person has always stood out. I would say that the person that has made the biggest positive impact on my education is my mom.
My mom has always been my biggest supporter in whatever I do both in academics and every other part of my life. She pushes me to be the best student I can be without putting too much pressure on me. My mom has spent countless hours helping me with homework, driving me to school or practices, and making sure that I am always okay. I probably would not be where I am today if it were not for her. She taught me how to work hard and how to be organized.
Something important that I have learned from my mom is to not settle for less than I want. I work hard for my grades and my successes. Not everything has come easily to me, but I was taught to always be willing to work for what I want to achieve. This has helped me reach my goals and meet my standards throughout my education. Whenever I have ever needed help with homework or if I was struggling with something, my mom was right there to help me. My mom is invested in my schooling and grades but allows me to make my own decisions. Ultimately my educational decisions are up to me, but she has taught me how to choose the best options for myself. This speaks volume to me because she could very well tell me what I should do, but she allows me to do that myself which has made an impact on how I move through life.
My mom’s positive impact on my education goes way beyond the classroom. I know that the reason I am so confident in my abilities and achievements is because of my mom, and for that I am extremely grateful. I am prepared for college and even after that because of the support, lessons, and encouragement that I have received from her.
