What does entering college mean to me? It means everything. Escape, discovery, exploration, experience. Attending college is not just another step of my own; it’s the first step on my own. It’s the very first decision I get to make without any restrictions or influence from my parents or anyone else. In reality it launches a whole new world to uncover. Entering college means I get to really see if I have what it takes, and I know I do. To see how far I can push myself to excel in that new atmosphere. I get to choose for myself which direction I want to take and how I want to get there. The friends I choose will lift me up in every way and the activities I take part in will shape and mold me for the years to come and the decisions to come. So college is not just another stepping stone, it’s a diving board that launches me into a pool of endless opportunity and wonder and excitement, where the path I take will be determined by the academic, social, and personal choices I make in those essential four years of new “firsts”. Attending college, to me, means beginning my life and having the world at my figure tips: escape, discovery, exploration, and experience.
