My Career by Alyssa - March 2025 Scholarship Essay

My chosen career path is to become a Veterinarian. For me, it isn’t a career that is about the money but a desire to help animals continue to live a healthy life, a desire I've been striving to achieve since a young age. I’ve always had a strong pull towards this field. My plan is to study and earn a bachelor's degree in Animal Science, then moving up to Vet School, with the goal to specialize in Neurology in animal’s. This decision was inspired after my own dog suddenly fell ill with something even specialists couldn't diagnose. In addition to my veterinary career, I’ve always dreamed of owning a ranch where I can house injured and homeless animals until they have been rehabilitated and can go to a proper and loving family. With my degree I vow to never misuse it but to always use it for good, to protect and heal those innocent creatures who aren’t able to advocate for themselves. I will study hard and never give up to achieve these dreams. No matter the challenge, no matter the hardship, I vow to work relentlessly to achieve this dream that is now closer than ever.
