Who is one person that has had a positive impact on your education and how did they impact you? by Alyssa - March 2023 Scholarship Essay
As a student who is about to graduate from high school, I can say without hesitation that my education has been influenced by a number of different things, including my teachers, my classmates, and my experiences. My mother, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, is one of the people who has had a significant influence on the path that I have taken in my academic career.
It wasn't an easy childhood, having a mother who suffered from a chronic disease. Because of her illness, it was challenging for my mother to carry out fundamental responsibilities and take part in routine activities with my siblings and me, including traveling on family trips or playing outside in the yard. Despite all of these obstacles, my mother has never allowed her disease to define who she is or alter her perspective on life.
My mother knew how important it was for me to do well in school, so she always pushed me to do the best I could. She would frequently share with me tales of her own scholastic troubles and how she managed to continue in spite of the many challenges that she faced. Her tales imbued me with the motivation to power through challenging situations, and as a result, I came to cherish the trait of resiliency.
The impact that my mother has had on my schooling became more obvious when I started attending high school. She would devote a significant amount of time to assisting me with my schoolwork, including reviewing my essays and helping me study for tests. Even when I was having trouble grasping more complicated ideas, she was there for me every step of the way.
But the influence that my mother had on my schooling went much beyond simply providing me with academic support. The fact that she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis instilled in me the qualities of empathy, compassion, and kindness toward other people. As a result of the challenges she faced, Mom instilled in me the value of tenacity, the capacity to overcome obstacles, and the significance of maintaining a constructive frame of mind.
My unflinching optimism in the face of challenges has been a source of motivation for me, and I attribute that to my mother. Mom instilled in me the value of tackling obstacles head-on with grace and dignity and the necessity of never giving up, even when it appeared that nothing could be accomplished. Her tenacity and doggedness have instilled in me the wisdom to keep going forward despite the fact that the deck appears to be stacked against me.
In conclusion, my mother has been a significant factor in both my academic success and my personal development. Mom instilled in me the values of resiliency, compassion, and empathy toward the experiences of others. Her unflinching support has been invaluable to me in achieving both the academic and personal objectives I set for myself. I am thankful that she is my mother and for all of the life lessons that she has provided for me throughout my entire life. The influence that she has had on my education is incalculable, and I will remember the things that she taught me for the rest of my life.
