The Ideal Classroom Environment by Alyssa - October 2014 Scholarship Essay
The ideal classroom environment for me would be somewhere quiet. It would also be helpful if the teacher was in the room, meaning no online classes. During online classes, many students find difficulty focusing and not procrastinating. The silence is helpful, but it is also acceptable to listen to some type of music while working. Some teachers say, "It gets the creative juices flowing."
I have heard many students at my school state that they wished there was a class just for talking about our personal lives, our issues, and why we are stressed. I feel like a class like this would help many students figure out some issues and how to manage their stress while they learn causes and effects of the personal life. It has also been brought to my attention that it would be helpful to have a class in which only seniors would take. This class would entail filling out scholarships and applications. The teacher of this class would be qualified to help students with any difficulties in the application process.
I believe students would be more likely to succeed in an environment such as the one described. It gives the student the chance to work freely, but still have direction. Online classes, which the world is unfortunately going to, have caused students to lose interest in their education. Students would be more successful if they didn't have such a high stress factor. Many times the stress is caused by the education process.
