My senior quote by Alyssa - November 2018 Scholarship Essay
My senior yearbook quote would be "I didn't work hard just for a piece of paper, I worked hard for my future". People in school tend to say they did all this work for a piece of paper, and to some of them doesn't mean anything. Little did they know, this "little piece of paper" was going to get them their next job, or it could be going to get them into their next college. The diploma that we work so hard for, and at times almost give up on because it's "not worth it anymore" can take us so far depending on how far we are willing to take it. Some people fail to realize a diploma is a lot more than just a piece of paper.
My quote describes me as a hard worker, and a determined individual. During my high school years, I had a lot of late nights, and a lot of hard days just like everyone else, but to me that means I know I was working to get the grade I wanted. My father always told me ever since I was young that my effort towards my work determined my grades, and I've always taken it with a grain of salt and worked my hardest, so I can have a good future. I knew the difference in my work, when I was being lazy and when I was doing my best. When I would have days where I was lazy with my work, my grade suffered, and I felt bad after that because at the end of the day the only person who determines what grade I get is me. I knew in college I was not going to have anyone holding my hand and reminding me about assignments and when they are due, so I broke out of my habit quick, and it paid off in the end.
Not only does my quote describe me as hardworking and determined individual it all describes me as someone who takes their work seriously to have great results. I always took my work seriously because my grades were going to determine the college I would go to. At the end of it all I received a diploma not only with my name, but years of hard work, tears, stress, achievements, and success. I am proud to say I now attend California State University San Bernardino.
