Nothing is Impossible by Allison - November 2018 Scholarship Essay

Going into High School as a nervous girl with short hair and a different style of clothing is by no means easy. But nothing in life ever comes easy, you should work for the things in life you deserve. Being popular in High School was definitely not on my list but, somethings come unexpectedly. My life changed because I never gave up on it.

Picked on and bullied all through middle and freshman year of High School. It was rough but, it never belittled me or pushed me in the wrong direction I always stayed strong. Turning the corner of sophomore year I had come out of my shell and without a close friend this probably would not have happened. I joined Track & Field and Cross Country. These sports meant the world to me and the people treated me just like family. The injuries that followed joining the team were not fun. Learning I had a condition called Female Athlete Triad along with other issues my body restricted me from running after three years of track & Field and Cross Country.

As I grew older I became much more involved playing sports, joining yearbook, participating in clubs, and being nominated to positions at school that would benefit my future. My second year in Yearbook I became the Chief Photographer and began training new students on how to use cameras and when to get the best shot for the book. The Jefferson County website project was another project I became involved in. County members from our county reached out to our school and asked for help from the most creative and talented students to help create an entirely new website for the county. I became the head photographer for the website as well.

These opportunities in life allowed me to push myself further. Becoming a manager for Track & Field and Cross Country was not my plan however, I did not give up I began traveling everywhere with the team, helping my coaches, and making sure the athletes were comfortable. Being constantly busy and involved runs you ragged but somehow I managed to get up every time I felt like giving up. This year my senior quote is "If you can find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn't lead anywhere" (Bear Grylls). Future students attending my high school will see this quote and hopefully realize that every little thing counts it doesn't matter what you do as long as you do not give up, you succeed in life.
