Easy Success by Allisen - October 2014 Scholarship Essay
Success is never easy, success takes hard work, dedication, and a strong head on your shoulders. No one is simply born successful, nor are they born with their full potential. I don't believe anyone can reach their full potential and never go farther, I believe that there is always more to reach for. When reaching success in college, there are many factors: how hard you work, what your tasks are, and your environment.
How hard you work and what you do with your time is something you have control of, what your environment is like is a whole other story. Having a good learning environment is crucial. As a high school senior and college sophomore, I know what good and bad classroom environments are like, in both high school and college. For me, ideal and best classroom experiences are somewhat small. I like having a class with 20-40 people, that way there is a variety of different people from all walks of life, but also it is small enough that you can communicate with each other in class discussions. Having small class sizes also allows for more one-on-one time with your professor.
The classes I have now at college are perfect for me and my success. They are not too large but not too small either. I am able to get help from my professors or talk with them without having to wait in line or worry about hurrying up for other people. I can also meet new people and really get a chance to know them. My classes allow us to get in small groups to work on projects or study, which is very helpful in succeeding in college. With this great classroom setting, I have been able to maintain my 4.0 GPA and do well in all my classes.
For me, this is an ideal class room, I know not everyone thinks like me, but I believe anyone can succeed and do well in this setting. With the help of professors and other students, it is hard not to reach goals and do well in every class. If all classrooms could be like this, now that would be ideal.
