Who Knew Hands Could Help? by Alexis - December 2014 Scholarship Essay

As a little girl I had always wanted to work with teeth. I never knew how much I wanted to live my dream until it came true. I was a year out of college when I received my dream phone call. A dentist office had called me and wanted me to fill out an application to work in their office. They wanted ME!

I was on my way to fulfilling my dreams. By working in this dentist office I feel I am more educated then my classmates I graduated with. I was able to have hands on education to further me in what I'd like to do. Even though I don't have as much schooling as my graduated classmates, I do have the hands on experience and knowledge that some of them have yet to experience.

By accepting this job, I now know that this is what I want to spend the rest of my life doing. I have gone from being a shy and timed girl to a woman who will communicate to all sorts of amazing people of different aspects of the world. I know much more about the dental field and I'm not afraid to show it and help people out.

I am now on my way back to school where I will be able to finish what little schooling I do have because I know for sure deep down in my heart this is what I want to do. I want to help share the knowledge of teeth to everyone around me. I want to accomplish my dreams and I am asking for your help. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
