Achieving Goals by Alexis - January 2018 Scholarship Essay
Throughout my whole life, I’ve always been someone to work hard to achieve great things, especially when it comes to school and my future. My educational goals include graduating from high school with as much college credit as possible. In my junior and senior year, I went to Lakeland Community College part and full time in order to get a head start towards my degree. After I graduate high school, I plan to go to Youngstown State University to major in biology under the physical therapy tract. After I receive my bachelors degree, I will apply for their physical therapy school. My intention after I earn my doctorate in physical therapy is to assist and educate others. One of my biggest life goals has been to have someone tell me that I helped them and made a positive impact on their life, and I believe that I can achieve this goal through a career in physical therapy.
I chose the word achieve because I want to go to college in order to be able to achieve great things in every aspect of the experience. First of all, I will be learning so much in order to further myself and prepare for my career as a physical therapist. I will be able to achieve my goal of helping and teaching others. Next, I hope to meet lots of new friends in my classes and dorm. I will be achieving new friendships and relationships through college. Also, I really like to volunteer and give back to the community, so I plan to achieve that through different clubs at Youngstown State. Finally, I plan to be a part of Youngstown’s bowling team. My plan is to become the best college bowler I can be and help my team achieve greatness in the form of winning tournaments. I look forward to the college experience and achieving my goals.
