Strategies for Ultimate Success on School Projects by Alexis - December 2017 Scholarship Essay
When you start on a school project, you start to think of what you want to start on first. Before you start working on your school project, you want to think of a strategy from start to finish. In order for your school project to be a success, you should really focus on what is suppose to be on the school project like putting a theme behind it. I would like to start my school projects with a theme like when I had to make a book for little kids or a historical event that happened in the past for history class.
When I start on a school project, there is a saying that I will always tell myself in my head before I start. " Show up and aim yourself in a direction, then respond to what shows up along the way." This quote was from Michael Neill. I used to make school projects from when I was in the seventh grade. I joined a club called FCCLA and we created projects that helped children in need of food and what was important in the fundraisers that we do. In my English class, my class does Make-A-Wish letters to donate a dollar to Macy's for kids with critical illnesses.
School projects are hard to start with when you don't know what the concept is. For example, the project in FCCLA and the Make-A-Wish letters all share the same concept; helping others. Each project either share the same concept or format. My next part of my strategy is to find facts. When a school project has a theme, you have to get facts about that theme in that subject. For example, if you are working on a project on social awareness, you should think of a theme like how you represent yourself or what the main problems for people who can't trust others. Next thing to do is to look up facts about social awareness so you can get a more understanding of those words and what they mean. Once you find facts about social awareness, then find pictures of social awareness so that your audience can know what you are trying to say and what it is, for example, people who are shy or stay away from people. Last thing to do on a school project is that you should find a background for your whole project instead of having a blank background. You don't want you project to look bland even though you have pictures and facts. Find colors for your background or a design that represents your project like social awareness.
I believe that school projects are really difficult to do when you're not sure how to start it. I have done them for the past 4 years now and it gets tougher each year. But if you follow my strategy, then each school project gets easier as each year goes by. So when starting a school project, you should start on a theme, then facts, then pictures, and last but not least have a background for the whole project.
