I am an athlete and figured that my life would be centered around athletics but then I went to the University of Wisconsin Superior and saw a degree in Transportation and Logistics Management. My curiosity was sparked! What is this degree? I love to organize and a natural leader. This field of utilizing supply chain methods to ensure inventories are transported across the country. It is why we have such a productive rail system. The need for planning, coordination and executing these plans. This sparked my change of degree choices. I was going to go into exercise science but then I thought I was made to be in Transportation and Logistics. I wouldn't have guessed that going on a college tour, my college now, would change my direction in life. I do plan to join the military after college and I know that a degree in Transportation and Logistics is perfect to help serve my country as well. With this role, I can help move goods efficiently and effectively. I can help organize supplies that are necessary for aid or troops. How many trucks are needed where? How many airplanes are needed to move x amount of troops? That would be me! I would have direct insight to getting this done. I could help reduced excess costs. To be sure that our troops have what they need without over doing it. The down side, there are things that will get in the way - delays can happen but I know that with my sports background and having to think quickly, I can work through any dilemma.
