To search engines, websites and private organizations scholarships are a popular way for students to finance their education. It is a known fact universities/colleges provide different scholarships to their students which promotes diversity and inclusivity to all kinds of students. If there was something I could positively change in my university it would be to provide more scholarships for certain degrees and majors as well as for international students. This would be helpful as other students can get the opportunity to pursue their desired major without financial stress.

As a first-generation nontraditional college student who struggles to find scholarships that suit my educational and circumstantial needs the only places I can obtain scholarships are from the college itself which has become a problem for me due to the lack of diversity of scholarships offered by the university. The lack of opportunities would give me a much harder time to pursue higher education. As of now my school mostly offers scholarships for military veterans as well as certain majors but with the school curriculum offering diverse types of degrees from business to psychology not all of us have a chance to have an opportunity to receive a scholarship

College is a place for many different types of people from around the world and promoting diversity is essential in creating a fair and exclusive community for all students. One way to promote this concept is to introduce scholarships for international students who wish to attend university. This would ensure that students from different backgrounds get an opportunity to pursue their dream of a higher education.

Introducing different types of scholarships for certain different majors and international students can certainly attract more students to universities. This role is crucial as with the high number of student loan debt in the United States it can help ease these burdens and give students a chance to pursue their dreams of college without having to rack a lot of debt.
