Having A Passion For Education by Alexandria - July 2019 Scholarship Essay

Discuss what having a passion for education means to you.
To me, having a passion for education means that my determination to receive an education will always prevail over my doubts and misfortunes I may encounter that would push me to give up. No matter how difficult the homework becomes, or what challenges I face that pull me away from my study habits, or how much I would and have wanted to give up, I have to and want to press on to accomplish my own goals to better myself. The persistence that is born by passion has given me life lessons to carry throughout my life to inspire and relate to others. Without passion there is no want to persist or growth, and without persistence and growth there is no way you can relate to and help others. You cannot go through life without relationships, so without passion what do you have?
My passion for receiving an education stems from my passion for family. Continuing my education means I can and will get a job I enjoy to help my parents with finances and have a life they deserve. Not only have they raised me, but my parents have been foster parents to over 90 teen girls. Seeing how much my parents care for those girls, even after they were no longer under the legal care of my parents, set a passion in me to give without expecting anything but to also give back to my parents that were never thanked for everything they did. Life will always send you through trials and my parents have had their fair share. My passion for education means my parents and I can do things we have never been able to do before and they can take more time for themselves after they have taken care of so many others for so long.
As I grew up through my cities schools I saw many peers and teachers that deserved more than what they were receiving just like my parents. My passion to continue my education means I will be able to return to my community to become even more active than I try to be now. It means that I will have the experience and knowledge and hopefully the finances to improve the community that also helped to raise me. Having a passion for education also feeds into my passion to build places and relationships that will help my community grow and flourish into a community that can then serve the rest of the world.
Having a goal that always rests in the back of your mind as you go throughout school and life that you are constantly working towards to produce a positive outcome is what it means to have a passion. Having a passion for education means I will finish college to obtain a degree and then a job I enjoy that will eventually allow me to return to my community and family that raised me and return thanks. Having a passion for education means I can help others that have helped me get to where I am and where I am going. Having a passion for education affects more than just me.It means more than just having an education. It means I can give back to the deserving and have a positive impact on those around me and the world.
