The skills required for well paying jobs increases by the year due to technological advancements and college remains the most effective way to find work in this new market. College gives people an opportunity to learn the more in depth skills needed to excel in many well paying fields. The advanced skills from college are the key to the middle class and beyond.
This is not the only reason though. College, at least if you search carefully, can be a place to grow wiser. Many classes provide the additional skills to be more well rounded, such as philosophy and history. These classes can help people turn into more independent thinkers and make better life choices in the long run.
College provides people with a community to help them with their learning. These can develop into study groups and help remove some of the difficulty of the hard classes. The community also allows people to learn more about themselves. Different organizations on campus and the new people that you meet can allow for new interest to blossom. The community of the campus, with everyone hopefully working toward the goal of graduation, helps keep morale up even when the classes become difficult.
These reasons all make college an important step in a person’s life journey. The lessons of college alone do guarantee prosperity, but they can help make it possible. College is an important place to attend.
