History by Alex - April 2013 Scholarship Essay

Nothing is more important than learning about the past to determine the future. It is because we learn about the past that makes society what it is today. Anything and everything going from government, technology, and even science is all based on it's history. Our very society is based off history. Histroy is all one big story and it's never ending. I enjoy stories and really history teaches us math, reading/writing, and the basics of public education. It even shows how our government was made followed by the governements of the earth, as as to how culture/religion was established. History is the source of knowledge and information, it is more powerful than any subject. You can look up an old hypothesis for a science experiment done twenty years ago and find a way to work with the old information with new ones to complete what wasn't done in the past. History teaches human to move forward and learn based off past mistakes, that is also based on psychology or humanites in this case. That is why I think history is not only my favorite but the best subject because it is a blend of every bit of information that we use to help create the foundations of today and progress it even further, by education ourself and pregressing our lives.
