My senior year is approaching a lot quicker than I thought it would. It seems just yesterday that I walked in as nervous freshman who just wanted to seem cool. With my senior year growing ever so close, I have started to think about many things such as college, scholarships, and graduation. One thing I have totally forgotten about was my senior quote. As soon as the thought hit my mind, I knew exactly what I wanted to say. My senior yearbook quote would be,"Be proud, but don't be satisfied.
This quote really hits deep for me because it relates very closely to my ideology throughout life. I began using this philosophy my freshman year after wrestling season. I made varsity as a freshman and I was very proud of myself, yet I was the only member of my team who did not advance past districts. I knew that I could be proud of myself, but I told myself that I could not be satisfied by this result. Because I was not satisfied, I pushed myself harder than ever and improved greatly. If I had been satisfied by my result, I would not have pushed myself to become better.
I use this thought process for everything in my life and it has improved my life greatly. I allow myself to be proud so I can remain happy, but I do not allow myself to be satisfied so that I can still improve myself. This quote means a lot to me and it would most definitely be my senior yearbook quote.
