Let The Music Rule The World by Adrianna - October 2016 Scholarship Essay
If the roles were reveres and I was the teacher, there would be about a million classes that I would like to teach and some of them are not even related to what I might choose for my career path. From Psychology to Chemistry, there are a billion options of classes that can be taught. However, if I had to teach a class, it would probably music performance. Not only am I experience in this field, but I also have considered music my passion despite the obvious challenges that were bound to happen, and did, as a result of my interest in music.
I have been playing the violin since I was in fifth grade, when my school has this program that would provide kids the chance to learn an instrument from either band or orchestra by a instructor in private lessons. They would take us out of class for at learn fifteen to thirty minutes, since we didn’t have an actual orchestra or band, and they would teach us the basics of playing our instrument. However, since I started in fifth grade, I only got to be a part of the program for a year before I went to middle school. In middle school, I found that things were far more advance than I had learn and I struggled a lot in my first few years as a musician. However, when I entered high school, I had been playing the violin for four years and I still had no clue what I was doing. Therefore, my parents decided to get me a private lessons as well as a violin of my own. And so my passions grew.
Even when I was little I had a love for music. But my passion wasn’t there until I started playing the violin. I have learned so much and would like to continue learning more about the violin and becoming a better violinist as well as possibly discover new things about myself that I didn’t know before through music. I hope music expands my soul and expands my love and I hope that it makes me a better person. This is why I would choose to teach music performance if they roles were reversed: because I want music to expand people’s hearts and make them better people just as much as I want them to becomes better musicians.
