If I could sit down and have a meal with any historical figure it would be Benjamin Franklin. The ideas of Franklin transfer to today’s ideas better than anyone of his time. Therefore, we would have plenty in common to talk about. Logic aside, Franklin was a man of many trades, business being one of them. Being that I am heading towards a business career, it would be great to be able to pick the brain of such a savvy entrepreneur.
Benjamin Franklin embodies everything I strive to be. He was not great at any one thing. His array of talents spread from science to politics. He is most known for his work as an inventor and a foreign diplomat. I myself want to know what it takes to become a man like himself. The work ethic, the passion, the personality. If I could meet a man like him I would be a different person.
At the moment, I really do not have any one person to try and model myself after. If there ever was a person, it would be Ben Franklin. Yet, there is no way to model yourself after someone as extraordinary as Franklin without meeting him first hand. Though I will never meet him, his ideals and accomplishments have shaped me in a way that he will never know, and neither will I.
