Eliminating Procrastination: My New Year’s Resolution
New Year’s resolutions are made in hopes of improving something about one’s character or personality. I wish I could be a little more proactive and ambitious about accomplishing tasks that are set before me. Resolving my issue with procrastination will definitely benefit me as a student.
Over my years of schooling, I have completed countless projects from writing assignments in English class to producing videos in American Government and constructing a marquee letter on the CNC machine in Maker Lab. Through that work, I have noticed one thing. The quality of my product depends on the amount of time I spend completing it. Waiting until the last minute to work on a task limits that time. In order to get the most out of my education in college, producing quality work is essential. So, I must start projects early.
Producing quality work always makes me feel confident. During my high school years, I have also noticed that when I am proud of my work I put more effort into it. And, the more effort I put in to my education the more I get out of it. So, eliminating procrastination will, in turn, boost my academic gains.
I pledge to always begin a project as soon as it is assigned beginning in 2016. I envision this being a year in which I have less stress and more confidence. This New Year’s resolution I hope to carry through the rest of my life.
