Leadership skills are a very important in every aspect of life. Everyday there will be a task brought up that requires leadership skills to complete. Leadership skills differentiate the people who have ambition and want to succeed from those who go about doing the bare minimum. In order to say you have leadership you must step up and be present in the moment, instead of just going through the motions or just getting by. I learned that if you want to get somewhere you have to take the initiative and get things done. If no one steps up you should step up, and you should always be the first to do so.

Are these skills necessary for college? YES, absolutely they are necessary to have a successful experience at college. There are so many opportunities that can be missed out on if you are not aware of what is going on and not taking advantage of these opportunities. They are necessary to make you stand out and show that you know what you want and how you are going to get there. A professor knows with in the first week who his/her students with leadership skills are by who stands out and by their actions. If you are not leading, then you are following and who knows if that person knows what they are doing. In order to reach the goals you set up for yourself at college you must gain or better your leadership skills and they will help you for the rest of your life. I think good things come to those who work hard and stay humble which is part of being a good leader. In my own life I have been faced with experiences where leadership skills brought me to the outcome I had planned for, which in that case was getting a summer job.

Leadership and leadership skills can and will get you to where you want to be in life. These skills you start learning as a young child and continue to learn and grow with as we get older. Those who put emphasis on learning these skills and work hard are successful. These skills are especially important in college where opportunities to succeed are all around. Learn leadership and you gain more than you can imagine .
