Keep calm and Press on :) by Aaliyah - December 2017 Scholarship Essay

After several attempts and failures at school projects, I have realized that certain components must be included in the process to succeed in any project. The most effective strategy for success on a school project is to create a vision, gather and organize your resources, use time management skills and remain calm and focused.

One of the most essential parts of creating a successful school project is to create a vision. The first step is brainstorming. When brainstorming always choose a comfortable quiet environment, so you can allow your creative juices to flow. You are going to have so many ideas, good and bad. Write down every idea on the topic when researching, so that you do not forget. Then pick the ones that can best work together to achieve success.

The next step to success is to gather and organize your resources. Figure out what is needed to accomplish the goal of completing and acing the project. Make a list of all materials necessary to complete the project. When you have gathered these materials put them all together in a safe spot. By keeping everything in one place you will save time and frustration in the long run because you have everything you need at your fingertips. Reading and searching the web for examples of similar projects can help when putting this project together. If struggling, do not be afraid to ask for help. Do not hesitate to ask the professor what are the expectation and learning objectives. Teachers love teaching; and going to one for guidance shows the devotion to achieving your goals.

Time management is crucial when soaring for success. A school project can often be very stressful, from the time the project is assigned, especially between juggling everyday life and school life. Making a list of all the steps of the project and dividing them by the time you have will spread out the project and keep you from getting overwhelmed. Set deadlines for each task. Over the allotted time assigned for the project, you are going to have several drafts of work some crumbled or even torn to shreds. The work that is up-to-par will be proofread to check for grammar and spelling errors. Completing the work on time means at least one to two days prior so that you can take the final draft to someone to get constructive criticism and make improvements. Take the time to do so because that could be the difference between an A or an A+. Both grades are phenomenal but you may feel proud seeing the plus sign next to the letter A. To be successful on a school project, work efficiently everyday so that you can get it done. The planner on your phone is a great tool to give you notifications to keep you on track.

Keep calm, an important project can cause your mind to feel like it is going to explode. But fear not, you are probably just a little overwhelmed. Being overwhelmed when creating a project is fine, just give yourself time to cool off and then get back to it. Whatever you do, never give up on your project because failure is never an option.

Work at your full potential to develop quality work, maintain a good work ethic and the ultimate goal of success will be yours.
