What personal experiences led you to select your chosen major? by A"Mani - February 2024 Scholarship Essay

As far as I can remember I have always been interested in sports. I started playing soccer at the age of 3. During field day in grammar school, I always participated in every activity that was offered to me. I loved the challenge of competing. I was always told how fast and athletic of a little girl I was. This interest continued through middle school and now high school. I am a 3 sport athlete and will be graduating with 12 Varsity Letters. I play/have played Soccer, Basketball, and Track & Field. I have excelled, broken records, and have received several accolades. I enjoy attending and watching sporting events. I have also volunteered my time to help coach youth soccer at an after-school program.
I've always been told by family and friends that I should major in a field that I enjoy and could see myself working. That was not difficult to do. I have a passion for sports and decided that I would like to major in sports management. At this moment I am not exactly sure which direction of sports management I would like to major in, but I can see myself in the future becoming an Athletic Director or Athletic Trainer. I would also like to coach youth soccer. I am excited to see what my future has in store for me.
