It is recommended that drivers create a distance of four seconds between vehicles. This enables the driver to have ample time to respond to emergencies. A shorter distance creates danger for both cars following one another because at this distance the driver behind the leading vehicle may not have time to react to sudden movements. In order to create this distance, the driver of the trailing car should mark a distinct, stationary spot on the road and count for seconds until they pass it. In doing so, they will create a proper buffer of distance between vehicles.

All of the choices indicate a lane change. Before one changes lanes they should perform the following: give the proper turn signal, check their mirrors, and physically check blindspots by quickly looking over his or her shoulders. Lane changes at speeds should be done deliberately and cautiously to avoid collisions from hesitation or quick braking. 

A driver should treat a flashing red light as a stop sign. Flashing red lights indicate that the driver should come to a complete stop, check for oncoming traffic, and proceed through the intersection when it is clear. A flashing red light does not imply that the driver proceed with caution. A flashing yellow light indicates that a driver should slow down, look, and proceed with care.

When a driver encounters a downed or non-functioning signal, they should treat it as a stop sign. In this case the intersection should be treated as a four-way stop. The driver should slowly approach the intersection, stop, look both ways, and proceed through the intersection when it is clear.

When a driver approaches a green arrow that changes to a green light they should yield to oncoming traffic and only turn if traffic is clear. They may not just simply turn because when the light changes opposing traffic are given the right to proceed through the intersection. If the driver were to turn at this time, then they would either cut of or collide with oncoming traffic.

On the other hand, one or two digit odd numbered interstates generally travel north-south routes.

A driver is only permitted to pass another car on a two lane highway when a broken white line is present. As a general rule, solid lines indicate that cars cannot pass one another. On the other hand, broken lines indicate that vehicles may pass one another. Engineers may decide that curvy roads or those with poor visibility may be too dangerous to allow vehicles to pass.

According to most traffic laws, double yellow lines may only be crossed in order to make a turn. Double yellow lines may not be crossed in order to pass cars. Likewise, the time of day does not change when or how the rules that these lines represent may be followed.

Lanes of traffic moving in opposite directions are separated by yellow lines. On the other hand white lines indicate separation of lanes of traffic traveling in the same direction. Red and blue colors are used to indicate different road signage and do not typically separate traffic lanes.
