About Me
I just graduated from an early college program, the Texas Academy of Math and Science, where I earned both my high school diploma and Associate degree. My first unofficial tutoring job was when I was in 7th grade and tutored my neighbor in the grade below for STAAR math and helped her go from barely passing to Commended! Since then, I started tutoring more and was an Algebra I peer tutor and spent my years in high school tutoring my local shelter and also taught English to Afghani university students. As I have also been someone who needed the help of tutors, I have seen how effective proper tutoring is and am passionate about helping others to learn. My tutoring philosophy is: "If you can't explain it to a six year old, you don't understand it yourself", which was said by Albert Einstein himself! I help students figure out which specific areas they are struggling in and also cater to different learning styles as each individual is unique. I believe there is no such thing as a silly/stupid question and my goal as a tutor is to create a comfortable environment where students are not afraid to ask questions, which I believe will truly help with improving their learning.
Hobbies & Interests
I am a very active person so I love to be out of the house doing something fun such as skateboarding or playing some type of sport, especially tennis. I also love cooking and am always thinking of new recipes and trying new restaurants! Other things I enjoy are thrifting, painting/art, and film photography.
