I have been a teacher for a total of 7 and 1/2 years. I first began teaching at a Head Start, starting out as an assistant teacher and moving my way up to a lead teacher. As a Head Start teacher, it was my job to teach students social skills, early literacy skills, and early math and science skills. I loved teaching this age group and only stopped working there in order to further my education. After I decided to go back to school, I worked a substitute teacher. I have experienced subbing in grades 1st through 5th, as well as all Middle School and High School grade levels. I also worked as a lead teacher for a private Pre-K program for 6 months. I worked there until I was hired in the public school system. Currently, I teach kindergarten in for Oklahoma Public Schools. I have taught Kindergarten for 2 years. I work with students on phonics, letter name and sound recognition, recognizing high frequency words, and other emergent reading skills. I also work with them on early math and science skills.I absolutely love to teach. I laugh every single day and learn something new each day. I am experienced with helping student a variety of subject matter, including reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. What I love about tutoring is that I can help students one-on-one and provide individualized lesson plans specifically for that student. Please contact me to help you with your area of need. I'm a graduate of Shiraz University, and I grew up in Shiraz, Iran. I came to the USA in 2009 and I am trying to transfer to dental school. While I tutor a variety of subjects, math is easily my favorite. I love basic math, algebra, calculus and everything in between, and it shows in my work. My mom was a teacher, and she helped me to pick up my first problem solving position in high school. Since then, I've worked with students from ninth grade to adults returning to the classroom, students struggling to pass to students wanting to attend (or get into!) a special high school or college. I am a math and science tutor at Austin Community College as well as a DAT (Dental Admission Test) instructor for Kaplan Test Preparation. Most students come to me for math, but I've also worked with standardized test preparation, chemistry, biology, physics, statistics, and time management. Math and science classes are really just elaborate puzzles to solve, and most of my students learn to enjoy the process of figuring out what to do once I help them develop the confidence and skill set they need to be successful. Not everyone loves science courses, especially math but I do, and it's contagious. In my free time, I like to explore Austin with my friends: from coffee shops to parks to museums. This is a really fun city! I also enjoy listening to all kinds of music, swimming and reading a good book.

I am currently a student at Clark University, majoring in Physics and minoring in Math and education. I love working with kids, and I plan to bring enthusiasm and relevance to every tutoring session. I believe connecting math concepts to the real world helps students see where it is applicable and useful, therefore generating more of an interest in the subject. This past year, I was an assistant teacher at University Park Campus School, in Massachusetts. I helped out in a 10th grade classroom, focusing on a single student and groups of students to help them grasp concepts presented by the teacher in class. My experience was everything I wanted and more. I was able to connect with my students, and get them to fully understand the material that they were working on. Beyond that, the students became more interested in the subject once I explained how Geometry was useful in everyday situations.Tutoring and teaching are very important in a child's development, and I invite you to choose me as a tutor because I promise I will bring knowledge, enthusiasm, and fun to every tutoring session!

I love helping other people. Whether that be tutoring, helping mow a neighbor's lawn, or giving a friend a ride somewhere. I tutored many of my friends throughout high school. I am currently attending the University of Kansas. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry on a Pre-Medicine track. I tutor in lots of different types of math and chemistry. My style is to first make sure you know the background content needed to understand the actual topic at hand. Outside of tutoring, I love to play basketball and football with my friends. I enjoy bonfires and picnics as well.

I am a graduate of Edgewood College located in Madison Wisconsin. I received my Bachelor of Computer Science in January 2021. After graduation I further explored newer technologies at Nucamp to learn more about web development. I later on became a Java Instructor for another bootcamp called Camp Createability. This new opportunity allowed me to help students learn how to game design and use Java as a programming language. From there I built up successful projects on my own and collaborated with other developers. What makes me passionate about tutoring PHP, Java, HTML, CSS and JavaScript is being able to bestow my knowledge in a simplified way that students can understand. Being there to support students with valuable feedback and resources aids them in becoming programmers.

I'm a German national and have been living in New York since September 2015. I graduated with a BA in Library and Information Science from the Professional College in Hamburg. The focus of my studies was on the archival of images which let to a career as a photo researcher and archivist for agencies and publishers.I love tutoring German because I feel as a native German I'm in a unique position to help students learn both the language and the culture of Germany. Whether helping beginners with problems or grammar questions, or training advanced students in their language skills through conversation, I like to tailor my tutoring to the needs and preferences of the student. This could mean providing additional exercises to the ones you have already, or discussing German newspaper or magazine articles. I can help prepare for a trip to Germany by talking through basic things like to tackle public transport or how to order in restaurants, or support professionals who need to interact with German clients or business partners. I'm a calm and patient person, and I believe there are no stupid questions, just stupid answers. My aim is to put students at ease and to make learning fun.In my free time I like to got to movies and the theater or see the latest photo or art exhibits at museums and galleries (I'm a visual person after all). I also enjoy reading, both in German and in English.

Frequently Asked Questions
Students typically struggle most with the quantitative sections, particularly fixed income analysis, derivatives pricing, and financial statement interpretation under different accounting standards. The exam's emphasis on rapid calculation and conceptual depth simultaneously—especially in areas like duration, convexity, and option-adjusted spreads—trips up many candidates. Additionally, the ethics and professional standards sections require nuanced understanding rather than rote memorization, which catches students who haven't integrated these concepts throughout their study process.
A tutor can help you develop efficient problem-solving strategies specific to FS Exam question types, teaching you which calculations to prioritize and which to estimate under time pressure. Through targeted practice sessions, you'll learn to identify question patterns quickly and allocate your time strategically across the three exam sessions. Tutors also help you recognize when to move on from a difficult question rather than spending excessive time on it—a critical skill that separates passing from failing scores.
Look for tutors who hold the FS credential themselves or have recently passed the exam with strong scores, as they understand the current exam format and difficulty level firsthand. Beyond credentials, effective FS Exam tutors should have demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, strong quantitative backgrounds, and experience teaching complex concepts like fixed income valuation or alternative investment analysis. They should also be familiar with the exam's specific emphasis on ethical decision-making and able to teach you how to apply professional standards to real-world scenarios.
A tutor can break down complex financial mathematics into manageable steps, starting with foundational concepts like present value and duration before moving to more advanced derivatives pricing models. Rather than memorizing formulas, you'll learn the underlying logic of how financial instruments work, which makes problem-solving intuitive even under exam pressure. Tutors also help you identify which calculations you can do quickly by hand versus which require deeper conceptual understanding, allowing you to allocate study time efficiently.
FS Exam ethics questions test your ability to apply professional standards to complex, real-world scenarios rather than recall specific rules—they're designed to assess judgment, not memorization. A tutor can help you develop a framework for ethical decision-making that you apply throughout all three exam sessions, rather than treating ethics as a separate topic. This integrated approach is essential because the exam increasingly embeds ethics questions across all subject areas, requiring you to balance technical knowledge with professional responsibility.
Effective practice moves beyond doing full-length exams repeatedly; instead, tutors help you focus on targeted drills for weak areas, timed practice on specific question types, and full-length mocks only after you've built competency in individual topics. The key is spacing your practice strategically—mixing review of previously learned material with new content, which research shows significantly improves retention and application. A tutor also helps you analyze your mistakes systematically to identify whether errors stem from conceptual gaps, calculation mistakes, or time management issues—each requiring different remediation.
Students working with tutors typically see score improvements of 50-150 points over 8-12 weeks of focused preparation, depending on starting level and study intensity. More importantly, tutoring helps you identify and close specific knowledge gaps rather than studying broadly, which accelerates progress in your weak areas while maintaining strength in topics you already understand. Many students report feeling significantly more confident in their ability to tackle unfamiliar questions and manage exam anxiety, which directly translates to better performance on test day.
You should have a solid grasp of basic financial accounting, corporate finance fundamentals, and intermediate algebra—most candidates come from finance, business, or economics backgrounds. If you're weak in any of these areas, a tutor can help you build foundational knowledge efficiently before diving into exam-specific material. The exam assumes you understand financial statement basics and can work comfortably with financial ratios, so addressing any gaps early prevents you from struggling with higher-level concepts later.
