The College Level Examination Program is a variety of standardized tests that allow students to gain college-level credit for topics they have already studied. Also called the CLEP exam, these are subject-matter tests that students often take during their freshman and sophomore years of college. Passing a test can help you earn a maximum of three college-level credits per exam, although that number varies, depending on the school you are attending.

There are 33 different CLEP exams, including a test on the humanities, which explores your general knowledge of performing arts, literature, art, and music. If you’re preparing for the CLEP Humanities exam, you’ll find it useful to get a study aid that you can use to prepare before test day. Varsity Tutors’ Learning Tools offers a set of free online flashcards for the CLEP Humanities exam.

There are hundreds of online flashcards to help you prepare for this section of the CLEP exam, and they cover categories like drama, fiction, nonfiction and philosophy, poetry, and the performing arts. There are also many flashcards that focus on the visual arts.

Each category of cards includes topics like “answering other questions about” the specific topic, as well as specific topics related to the overall subject. For example, in the category of music, the Leaning Tools Flashcards for CLEP Humanities covers a range of periods and styles, including Baroque, Classical, Medieval, Romantic, and 20th century music. These flashcards also include study of musical terminology. In the poetry category, you’ll see a variety of questions on analyzing the content of poetry in different time periods, identifying titles, authors and schools of poetry, and analysis of poetry’s forms.

Each of these flashcards presents a question and five possible answers. They are designed to present questions that are similar to questions you’ll see on the Humanities CLEP exam, but are not the exact questions. When you choose an answer, you’ll get an idea of how well you know the topic immediately – you’ll see the correct answer and an explanation of why it is the correct answer after you choose from the possibilities.

If you’re looking for other study aids for the CLEP Humanities exam, Varsity Tutors’ Learning Tools offers several others. From exam-mimicking Full-Length Practice Tests to an interactive syllabus called Learn by Concept, you can explore a variety of topics that are typically covered in the exam. There is also a Question of the Day series that presents a random question from material in the CLEP Humanities study aids; you don’t know what subject will come up, but this tool offers one way to judge your readiness to take the exam.

What makes these Learning Tools different is that when it comes to the Flashcards for CLEP Humanities, and some of the others, you aren’t required to answer all of the questions at one time. You can come back to the study aid at a later time if you choose, move through different flashcards as you want to explore various topics, and you can access them anywhere you have an internet connection.

Our CLEP Humanities flashcards each contain one question that might appear on the CLEP Humanities exam. You can use them to get a comprehensive overview of each topic covered on the CLEP Humanities exam one problem at a time, or to do problem drills that focus on particular problem types or content areas found on the CLEP Humanities exam.
