9+ years of tutoring
Cory
- While contemplating career options, I realized that the highlight of my day was always my tutoring shift.
- Life has been far more enriching with both an education and the opportunity to assist others with their education.
About Me
I graduated with a degree in physics from the University of Washington last year and I have been tutoring math and physics for the past 4 years. Additionally, the world we are entering is more demanding of critical thinking skills than ever, so it would be remiss of us not to emphasize intellectual growth. The subject I am most passionate about tutoring is mechanics since this is usually a student's first exposure to synthesizing physical theories with mathematical concepts. Overall, I take a conversational approach to tutoring where I try my best to relate the material to the student's life experiences while drawing more conventional analogies that are proven to make the concept click.
Hobbies & Interests
Before I became a tutor, I had aspirations to become a full time musician, but while this passion has taken a backseat, I still enjoy picking up a guitar or sitting down behind a drum set and jamming along with whoever. I also enjoy hiking, gardening, reading, rock climbing, dancing, and playing video games.
