About Me
I seek to cultivate the rich potential that is held by each and every student I encounter. My standards of innovation and partnership mirror the qualities that make me a strong educator. When interacting with students, I emphasize perseverance, exploration and advocacy. I believe those values develop proficient, passionate and confident learners. With regard to specific teaching methods, I teach students how to develop strong study habits and strategies, as well skills. I allow students to articulate how they learn best and adjust my teaching methods to fit their needs. Most importantly, I enJOY teaching and strive to making learning a joy to students. As an eager learner myself, one of the things that led to my success as a student was my resourceful nature. I attended Temple University as an undergraduate student, and The University of Pennsylvania as a graduate student, where I earned my Masters of Science in Education. Both universities are in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where I am from. While a student at Temple University, I sat at the Opinion Editor of the Temple News. I currently live the in the Greater New York City area and teach 5th grade mathematics. Prior to teaching mathematics, I taught Spanish and still remain very passionate about language learning! In fact, just last year I took a group of 10 students on their first ever study abroad trip to Costa Rica!
