About Me
I taught high school students practical life lessons and theology at a local church for a year and am now looking to hone my critical thinking and communications skills by tutoring while I apply for graduate school. It teaches us how to communicate ideas and, oftentimes, how to assess the quality of these ideastwo of the most crucial and universal skills we need in life. My goal is to help students get the most out of their education. This means more than just earning good grades. It means learning to enjoy school, learning how to learn, and learning how to think for themselves. It is an ambitious goal, but it is one for which any progress is cause for celebration. So when appropriate, I take my time to show students not just how to solve a problem but why it is important to solve and how it relates to everyday life. During my free time I like to work on cars. I own a Mazda Miata and a 350 hp STI-swapped Subaru Impreza. I also like to stay active. I go rock climbing and bouldering at indoor gyms and, occasionally, outdoors too. I also lift weights and play basketball to stay in shape.
