I am a rising sophomore at the University of Notre Dame majoring in Political Science and minoring in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Since graduating high school with high honors, I have been involved with volunteering, student government, and I am a proud member of Notre Dame's mock trial team! I'm most passionate about teaching math to students of all ages, especially middle school. I know how stressful and intimidating math can be, and I want every student to feel confident to succeed in math, whether it be for elementary school, middle school, high school, or on a college admissions exam. I was really lucky all the way through college that I really had good teachers at all levels. When I got to graduate school, I had my first experience with teachers who weren't very passionate about teaching and it was the first time I struggled with the material. It helped me see how important quality teaching had been to my academic success, and it also helped me see what makes a good teacher, good. This sparked my interest in not just how to teach, but how do students learn? I've been tutoring and teaching ever since and I'm always looking for new ways to reach students and to make the material spark interest.I earned my Bachelor's in Chemistry at Illinois Wesleyan University and went on to a PhD in Organic Chemistry at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
