As a Certified Texas Special Education Teacher with 20+ years of experience, I specialize as a Reading Interventionist, bridging the gap between ELA success and emotional resilience through a holistic, trauma-informed approach. My passion is building foundational skills mixed with art/DBT alongside middle and high school students with learning differences like Dyslexia and ADHD, as well as all-ages ESL. I blend creative writing, poetry, and narrative character creation with DBT to build academic mastery, self-confidence, positive self-talk, and anxiety management skills. My sessions go beyond standard tutoring; we use figurative language and storytelling to make complex concepts like morphology and sentence structure feel like an adventure. Whether using interactive games, AI for a magical finish, or exploring the rhythm of poetry, I center sessions around each student's personal interests to help them find their unique voice in a joyful, non-judgmental environment so they can thrive!
