About Me
I'm passionate about helping students because I know just how important it is to be able not just to learn subject material, but also to know & understand that subject. There's a difference between doing the assignments, or homework/classwork about the subject, it's a whole different story to be able to apply that subject when it's testing time or assessment time. My experience working with students includes last year in 2022-2023 being a Teletherapy Speech Substitute at a elementary school in our district. This year I'm working as a substitute at a middle school in our district in a Special Education Inclusion vacancy position, working with all 3 grade groups, 7th grade being the biggest group of students. My Bachelor's degree is in Special Education from Midwestern State University in 2017, then I got my 1st Master's degree in Special Education also from Midwestern State University in fall of 2019. I went on to get my 2nd Master's degree in High Incidence Disabilities from The University of North Texas online in summer of 2021. I tutor both reading (K-3rd grade) and science (K-6th grade). My favorite subjects to tutor are still both reading & science because in order to do both you have to know how to read, & then to enjoy both subjects, you must know how to read the material to apply it. My teaching philosophy is I always try to break down all subject material as much as possible to where any student understands what's being asked or either him/her to do. I love to carve rubber stamps for fun.
