About Me
I received my degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of NC at Greensboro. My Masters degree in Elementary Education from NC A& T State University. I later received another Masters Degree in School Administration from Fayetteville State University. I taught at the elementary level (PreK- 5th grade) for 10 plus years. I was an assistant principal for three years and then a principal for over 20 years. I recently retired in June of this year with over 37 years in education. As an administrator, I always visited my classrooms and worked with the children. An important part of my job as an administrator was to be in the classrooms watching and helping the students learn. While helping them learn, I also enjoyed taking a personal interest in the students to learn more about them as well as for them to know more about me. This helps create a great learning atmosphere and helps build relationships with students.
Hobbies & Interests
I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling. Learning about other places makes traveling worthwhile. I always made sure my own children learned during our travels. Who loves to eat? I do!! My favorite food is seafood. I can eat it for every meal. Another interest of mine is reading because you can also continue to learn during reading. Animals are a love of mine. I have one indoor cat and 9 outdoor cats... and counting! I like being active, so I workout weekly and enjoy spending time in the pool.
